L.A. Galaxy troll Portland Timbers with video meme about flop

To say flopping is a part of soccer is akin to saying cheese is a part of a grilled cheese sandwich.
Really, you cannot have one without the other.
As is the case with cheese, not all flops are created equal, and the one Portland Timbers midfielder Diego Chara pulled off in a recent match with the L.A. Galaxy likely stands among the very best.
And by “very best”, we mean worst.
A foul was called on Galaxy defender Jelle Van Damme, and he understandably protested the ruling, albeit to no avail.
But no worries, as the Galaxy social media team decided to try and right things in part by creating what may one of the best sports troll jobs in history.
And by “one of the best sports troll jobs in history,” we mean one of the best sports troll jobs in history.
are we doing this right? ☄️ #shootingstars #memes pic.twitter.com/8wds3Wnop8

The video, brilliant as it is, elicited this response from the Timbers:
if you can only put fans in 60% of your seats a cute meme is one way to get attention. We have video guys, too. Stay tuned…
