Cardinals sign third-round pick Chad Williams to four-year contract

May 18, 2017, 2:20 PM | Updated: 2:36 pm

The Arizona Cardinals officially added another one of their rookies to the fold, as on Thursday they signed receiver Chad Williams to a four-year contract.

As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The 6-foot-1 Williams, who was chosen 98th overall out of Grambling State, was an FCS All-American in 2016 after catching 90 passes for 1,337 yards and 11 touchdowns. In 47 games in college, he caught 219 passes for 3,062 yards and 28 touchdowns.

Earlier this week, Cardinals coach Bruce Arians praised Williams’ performance.

“He’s shown up a lot already, so it’s a tough room to crack but he’s off to a good start,” he said.

Arians was then asked about Williams’ personality to which he replied, “It’s what you’re looking for.”

The team inking Williams means that now, with fifth-round picks Will Holden and T.J. Logan, and sixth-round choice Rudy Ford already under contract, only first-round pick Haason Reddick, second-round choice Budda Baker and fourth-round selection Dorian Johnson remain unsigned.
