Le’Veon Bell donates $750,000 for his old high school to install a turf field

May 24, 2017, 7:01 PM

Future NFL players that come out of Groveport Madison High School in Ohio will have current Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell to thank for the support.

Bell will have contributed to what’s under those players’ feet, after all.

The alum donated $750,000 for his high school football program to install a turf field, reports ABC6onyourside.com.

“Le’Veon’s gift not only benefits our athletics programs, it also benefits our marching band and other youth-oriented programs throughout the District,” said the school’s athletics director, Steve Petros. “The new field allows us to host regional and state competitions and events, whereby our booster organizations and local businesses will enjoy a positive financial impact as well.”

That’s not all.

Bell created a non-profit called “Bell’s Boys Initiatives” that will hold events and incorporate sportsmanship and leadership into young peoples’ lives. The Steelers’ running back will be personally involved in creating the program’s activities.

Bell graduated from Groveport Madison in 2010, played at Michigan State and went 48th overall to Pittsburgh in the 2013 NFL Draft.
