The injury-plagued career of Arizona State defensive back Armand Perry has come to an end.

Perry announced the end of his football career on social media Wednesday night.

Perry came to ASU as part of Todd Graham’s 2014 recruiting class. A three-star prospect from Bishop Gorman High in Las Vegas, Perry played in every game as a true freshman, contributing 34 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks for a 10-3 Sun Devil team.

In 2015, Perry suffered an ankle injury in a 35-21 win over Cal Poly in the second game of the season. It was described as a Grade 3 sprain with ligament and bone damage and it would sideline Perry for the rest of the year. He returned in 2016, playing in 10 games with 59 total tackles and three tackles for loss.

Perry did not participate in spring practice.

His brother, Alex, is part of ASU’s class of freshmen in 2017.
