Following one of their most exciting wins of the season, the Arizona Diamondbacks received some bad news.
D-backs’ manager Torey Lovullo told the media after the game that shortstop Nick Ahmed has a small fracture in his right hand.
“We’re going to evaluate and continue to evaluate him and that’s all the information that I have,” Lovullo said.
Ahmed was hit by a pitch in the eighth inning of Tuesday’s game against the St. Louis Cardinals. He came out of the game after getting hit. Patrick Corbin replaced him on the basepaths.
Ahmed has played in 53 games this season for the Diamondbacks, where he is hitting .251 with six home runs and 21 RBI.
