Brittney Griner was named Western Conference Player of the Week on Monday.

It is the fourth time in her career she has earned the honor.

Griner got the nod after a week in which she posted two 30-point games with a pair of double-doubles — to put that into perspective, Griner had two double-doubles all of last season and entering 2017 she had never recorded a 30-point game.

Those feats helped the Mercury go 3-0 with victories over Washington, San Antonio and New York.

In those three games Griner averaged 25.3 points and 11.7 rebounds per game, adding to her league-leading 22.4 points and 2.4 blocks per game. She is also averaging 8.4 rebounds per game, which ranks sixth, and the top pick in the 2013 draft figures to be near the top of the list for league MVP consideration.

Her amazing year has helped the Mercury to a 10-6 record, which is the third best mark in the WNBA behind the Minnesota Lynx and Los Angeles Sparks.
