Phoenix Suns point guards have been linked to the New York Knicks lately.

It started with Eric Bledsoe Wednesday according to the New York Post’s Marc Berman and now Brandon Knight has also come up Friday.

This is according to ESPN’s Ian Begley, who earlier in the week, mentioned Knight in a piece as a possible point guard option for New York.

Begley now reports Knight’s name came up in talks.

As the Knicks continue to look for a point guard this offseason, Brandon Knight is one name that came up in conversation with Phoenix recently, per league sources. The Knicks also talked to Phoenix about Eric Bledsoe, league sources confirmed. The Knicks’ level of interest in Knight is unclear but it’s reasonable to assume his name came up in talks surrounding Carmelo Anthony since his salary (roughly $44 million over the next three seasons) would be useful in such a transaction.

The team recently drafted point guard Frank Ntilikina eighth overall, but Begley reports the team wants a veteran to play ahead of him.

After being acquired during the maddening 2015 trade deadline, Knight’s career has had a free fall. He was declared the “sixth starter” for the team after Devin Booker was elected the starting shooting guard for the 2016-17 season with Eric Bledsoe.

Knight had a rough go of it in a newfound role after nearly making the All-Star team with the Milwaukee Bucks just two seasons prior, shooting 40 percent from the field and averaging 11 points and 2.4 assists per game. He joined Tyson Chandler in not playing after the All-Star break.

Knight will be in the third year of a five-year, $70 million extension, making him difficult to move given his poor play.
