The Phoenix Suns wrapped up their 2017 Summer League in Las Vegas with a 93-87 loss to the Sacramento Kings.

Both teams sat multiple key players from previous games earlier in the week.

Marquese Chriss, Dragan Bender and Josh Jackson did not play for the Suns while Sacramento was without De’Aaron Fox, Buddy Hield, Malachi Richardson and Frank Mason.

Point guard Mike James did play for Phoenix and had another strong performance.

He finished with 25 points, six rebounds and four assists. James signed a contract with the team earlier in July and will compete for a roster spot.

Davon Reed, the team’s first second-round selection in the 2017 NBA Draft at No. 32, also played, scoring 17 points.

Reed will have to battle with Devin Booker, T.J. Warren, Josh Jackson and Derrick Jones Jr. for playing time on the wing this season for the Suns. Brandon Knight is also a possibility for minutes outside of point guard.

The Kings’ Justin Jackson was the only first-round pick from this year’s draft to play in the game and looked the part. He had a game-high 29 points in his final Summer League game of the year.

The Suns finished with a record of 2-4 in Summer League.
