Brittney Griner was putting together a MVP-like season before getting injured on Friday.

Her injuries didn’t stop her from earning the league’s highest midseason honor — an All-Star selection.

Griner joins teammate Diana Taurasi as the two Mercury players named to the Western Conference team.

The game will take place at KeyArena in Seattle on July 22 at 12:30 p.m.

The 26-year-old has been named an All-Star in all four possible seasons of her career, as there was no game in 2016 due to the Olympics.

Griner is leading the league in scoring at 22.3 points per game and blocks at 2.5 per game. She is also averaging a career-high 8.2 rebounds per game and has the fourth best shooting percentage in the league at 57.7 percent. The center has tallied four 30-point games this season, whereas the rest of the WNBA has six combined on the year.

Even though the five-year veteran was named an All-Star reserve, she will not play in the game. She is expected to be out three to four weeks with a left knee bruise and right ankle sprain that she suffered against the Minnesota Lynx.
