Arizona Cardinals starting left tackle D.J. Humphries left the Week 1 game against the Detroit Lions with a knee injury and did not return.

It was reported after the game by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport that Humphries could miss a few weeks because of a right knee sprain, pending an MRI.

FOX sideline reporter Laura Okmin reported that Humphries went to the locker room after he was injured.

Backup offensive lineman John Wetzel replaced Humphries.

Already one of the Cardinals’ biggest question marks heading into 2017, the offensive line also started a banged up Mike Iupati, who was limited in practices heading into Sunday. He started at left guard.

While Arizona’s pass protection held up adequately through most of the first quarter of three offensive possessions, it struggled to open holes for running back David Johnson.

The third-year pro had seven carries and only nine yards through the first three Cardinals possessions.
