Arizona State had one of their best defensive players go down with an injury Saturday night against Texas Tech.

Linebacker Koron Crump left the game with a left leg injury. Crump went down holding his left leg. ASU’s staff had a look at Crump’s leg before two staff members assisted him off the field. He walked slowly on both legs to ASU’s training tent and was later seen with a large ice wrap on his left knee while on crutches.

Fox Sports’ Lesley McCaslin reported that Crump had not been ruled out of the game and would be re-evaluated at halftime.

Crump made headlines in the offseason when he set a goal of two sacks per game and was at that pace early in the season. Crump entered the game with four sacks on the season, which had him tied for the second-most sacks in the nation.

Last season, Crump was second-team all-conference, posting a team-high nine sacks.

In the preseason, Crump was named to the Chuck Bednarik watch list, which is given to the collegiate defensive player of the year.

Pro Football Focus rated Crump as one of ASU’s best players through the first two weeks.
