On Saturday afternoon the Arizona Diamondbacks announced they are going to put Zack Greinke on the bump for the National League Wild Card Game on Wednesday.

Later on Saturday, the D-backs learned who Greinke will face for the one-game playoff round.

Courtesy of a Milwaukee Brewers’ loss to the St. Louis Cardinals 7-6, the Colorado Rockies clinched the second and final NL Wild Card spot.

The D-backs will host the Rockies at Chase Field Wednesday, with first pitch slated for 5:08 p.m.

The game sold out tickets in less than two hours Monday after going on sale at 9 a.m. It will be the D-backs’ first playoff game since 2011.

The Diamondbacks finished 11-8 against the Rockies this season, winning seven of their last nine meetings.

At home, Arizona finished .500 (5-5) against the Rockies, outscoring them 43-32.

With Greinke on the mound, the D-backs are in great shape. He finished the season 17-7 with a 3.20 ERA and 215 strikeouts, including a 13-1 record at Chase Field. As a team, the D-backs went 15-3 at home when Greinke took the mound.

Two of the three losses, however, were against Colorado.
