GLENDALE, Ariz. – More shifting along the offensive line is ahead for the Arizona Cardinals.

Left tackle D.J. Humphries will not play against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday at University of Phoenix Stadium. He’s missing his third straight game after hurting his right knee in the season opener.

Humphries is inactive, as is guard Alex Boone, who’s dealing with a slight pectoral strain. And, of course guard Mike Iupati, placed on injured reserve Saturday, is out.

All this means the Cardinals will use some sort of tackle/guard combination featuring John Wetzel and rookie Will Holden on the left side. Regardless of how they line up, it will be the third different starting five-man unit charged with protecting quarterback Carson Palmer in four games.

The remaining inactives are quarterback Blaine Gabbert, running back D.J. Foster, defensive lineman Robert Nkemdiche, wide receiver Chad Williams and cornerback Tramon Williams.

With receivers John Brown and J.J. Nelson both available, that leaves Chad Williams as the odd man odd; while Tramon Williams will be in street clothes after dressing out and not playing a week ago.

Nkemdiche (calf) had already been ruled out.

For the 49ers, linebacker Reuben Foster (ankle), safety Eric Reid (knee) and linebacker Pita Taumoepenu (ankle) are out due to injury and among the team’s listed inactives.

The others not in uniform for San Francisco are wide receiver Kendrick Bourne, offensive lineman Eric Magnuson, linebacker Mark Nzeocha and cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon
