LISTEN: Doug & Wolf NFL Power Poll - Week 5

The Packers are rising.

Green Bay’s big win over the Chicago Bears only reinforced that fact. So 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station’s Doug & Wolf are giving the Packers props in their Week 5 NFL Power Poll.

While Ron Wolfley moved the Packers into fifth, Doug Franz already had Green Bay ranked as the fourth-best team last week.

He bumped the 3-1 Cheeseheads into his second overall slot, and as the Raiders tumbled out of his rankings, he added the Carolina Panthers to his top-five after their win at New England.

Doug

5) Carolina Panthers
4) Buffalo Bills
3) Denver Broncos
2) Green Bay Packers
1) Kansas City Chiefs

Wolf

5) Green Bay Packers
4) Buffalo Bills
3) Carolina Panthers
2) Atlanta Falcons
1) Kansas City Chiefs

“I don’t want the Carolina Panthers to do well, I’m still upset about the way they handled the Super Bowl (two years ago),” Doug said. “I still don’t like the fact of their cheeseball team picture after knocking out the Arizona Cardinals. It doesn’t change the fact, you’re 3-1 with a win in New England, you are the fifth-best team in the National Football League.”

Meanwhile, Wolf moved the Kansas City Chiefs into his top spot, joining Doug in that regard after Andy Reid’s squad pulled out a win over Washington on Monday Night Football. They take over for the Atlanta Falcons, who fell to Buffalo and completely out of Doug’s power poll.

You can hear the explanations for the shifting by listening to the podcast above, and you can also catch their weekly rankings live on 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station.
