Harper, UNLV football to honor Las Vegas victims on the playing field

Following the deadly Las Vegas shooting, people have poured in with their support for Sin City, including figures from around the sports world.

Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper and the UNLV Rebels football team are making sure the victims affected by the recent tragedy know they are thinking of them.

Harper, who is actually from Las Vegas, not only wore a hoodie that read #VegasStrong in Thursday’s workout, but also changed up his cleats.

With the Nationals’ NLDS series against the Chicago Cubs beginning Friday, Harper’s cleats will be on display when he takes the field.

But the slugger isn’t the only one representing Las Vegas.

The Rebels have announced that they will be honoring victims on Saturday with a red ribbon that reads “Las Vegas” on the sides of their helmets, replacing the traditional logo the team usually sports.
