Former Northern Arizona Suns general manager Bubba Burrage will change roles and direct his efforts toward the Phoenix Suns in his third year as director of player personnel.
Burrage’s move away from the Suns’ G League team in Prescott Valley has also led to the promotion of NAZ Suns assistant general manager Louis Lehman to take on the GM duties.
Burrage enters his seventh year with the Suns. He began as a pro personnel scout for Phoenix, then spent two years as the GM of the Bakersfield Jam before that D-League team moved to Arizona. Burrage then served as the first Northern Arizona Suns general manager.
Lehman is in his sixth year with the Suns and spent the past two seasons with the minor league team.
“I look forward to working in conjunction with coach Ty Ellis and our phenomenal staff on continuing to build on the same principles, style, and culture that Bubba laid the foundation for during his tenure as general manager,” Lehman said in a statement. “The Northern Arizona Suns will continue to serve as an extension of the Phoenix Suns program with a focus on identifying and developing the next great NBA players, coaches and executives to come through the G League.”
The Northern Arizona Suns also promoted Dylan DeBusk to assistant general manager. He had previously served under the title of director of basketball operations and player personnel for the G League team.
