It has been a rough couple of weeks for the University of Arizona.

According to CBS sports insider Gary Parrish, five-star guard Jahvon Quinerly canceled his commitment to Arizona Thursday night. The announcement comes following an FBI suggestion that the guard took improper benefits from the school.

After Arizona assistant coach Emanuel “Book” Richardson was named in an FBI investigation looking into fraud and corruption at the collegiate level, Quinerly, the nation’s 19th-ranked player in the 2018 class, is the latest domino to fall for the university.

In September, charges were brought up on 10 coaches, managers, financial advisers and a representative of the company Adidas.

And even though he now has no affiliation with the Wildcats, Quinerly might not be out of the woods yet. His eligibility is now in question with the FBI looking in on whether he accepted a $15,000 bribe from Richardson.

The assistant coach was dismissed from the school following the investigation. He was a member of Sean Miller’s coaching staff since 2007.
