Suns’ Devin Booker takes rough fall against Lakers, stays in game

Oct 20, 2017, 8:24 PM

Phoenix Suns shooting guard Devin Booker had it going in the first half against the Los Angeles Lakers Friday.

Booker was the primary initiator for the offense in the first half, and he was rolling in a more important offensive role.

He finished the half with 17 points, four rebounds and seven assists.

There was a scary moment, however, when Lakers center Brook Lopez went to contest Booker’s finish at the rim midway through the second quarter.

Booker took a rough fall after the contact, taking just about all of the impact of the fall on his back.

Booker stayed on the floor for a few minutes, clearly in pain, before getting up and staying in the game after head coach Earl Watson’s timeout.

Lopez would go over to Booker before the two teams came back from the timeout break and apologized.

The first half of the game was an up-and-down contest featuring lots of offense and not a whole lot of defense. The Suns finished the half up 73-70. Along with Booker’s 17 points, T.J. Warren also had 17 and Eric Bledsoe added eight.
