Phoenix Suns small forward Josh Jackson had a moment in Saturday’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers spread throughout social media, but it wasn’t a highlight-reel dunk or block.

When fouling out of the game, Jackson made a gesture toward a fan, and then followed it by appearing to say, “(expletive) you.”

The gesture appears to be Jackson imitating the motion of shooting a gun.

Jackson denied that notion Monday.

“That’s what most people think I was doing but I actually wasn’t mimicking a gun, but if that’s what it looks like to y’all,” Jackson said.

Jackson said it was a particular fan who was talking to the players the entire game and called him a few names as he walked to the bench.

“I kinda wanted to put up the middle finger to ’em,” Jackson admitted, saying he didn’t regret doing it. “I really wanted to do that but I didn’t do that because I felt like I was actually really being watched so I kinda halfway did it. At this point, it doesn’t matter what I did or didn’t do anymore. It’s over with. I’m over it.”

There has been no word yet from the NBA if Jackson will be fined or suspended.

“It’s kinda not fair when fans can come and sit so close and say whatever they want to say and us as players can’t react in any type of way,” Jackson said. “(That’s) something that I’m still learning.”

The Suns have had a bevy of problems to deal with outside of Jackson’s gestures. They fired head coach Earl Watson Sunday and point guard Eric Bledsoe was sent home Monday.
