The Arizona Coyotes announced Tuesday they had recalled forward Michael Sislo from the Tucson Roadrunners and re-assigned goaltender Louis Domingue.
Domingue’s place on the roster was said to have been a “paper transaction” when he was recalled from Tucson on Nov. 1. Domingue has an .856 save percentage in seven NHL games played this season. He has not appeared in a game for the Coyotes since Oct. 28.
Arizona still has goaltenders Antti Raanta and Scott Wedgewood on its roster.
Sislo, 26, has four goals and two assists in nine AHL games this season. He has appeared in 42 NHL games over parts of three seasons with the New Jersey Devils. In that span, he has three goals and two assists.
In a video interview sent out by the team prior to Tuesday’s game at Pittsburgh, head coach Rick Tocchet was asked whether the roster move to bring up Sislo was done because of an injury.
“Yeah, we’ve got a couple guys banged up,” he said. “Just in case. You want to make sure you have an extra forward just in case something happens. He’ll be coming up and we’ll go by the game and see who — game time decision on certain players.”
After Pittsburgh, the Coyotes will be in St. Louis to play the Blues on Thursday.
