‘Happy day’: Cardinals’ David Johnson gets his cast off injured wrist

Nov 13, 2017, 2:22 PM

For Arizona Cardinals running back David Johnson, recovering from wrist surgery is about taking it one step at a time.

On Monday, nearly two months after undergoing surgery, he finally took the first step.

Johnson got the cast removed from his left wrist that was injured in the season openerΒ on Sept. 10. The third-year back posted a video to his Twitter account with the message “Oh Happy Day!! #WristAintMovin #Fingerwaves.”

Johnson, whose return was pegged at two to three months after the injury, has maintained he aims to return this season.

Now, the recovery timeline has to do with how quickly he can regain his range of motion and strength after undergoing surgery for a dislocation suffered when he came down with a catch in a Week 1 loss to the Detroit Lions.

Arizona remains in limbo regarding which players come off the injured reserve list. Johnson joins quarterback Carson Palmer and rookie running back T.J. Logan as potential candidates to be pulled from the injured reserve, but teams are limited to only two players per season.
