ASU’s Tra Holder named Pac-12 Player of the Week

Arizona State senior guard Tra Holder has become the first Sun Devil since March of 2015 to win Pac-12 Player of the Week.
Holder averaged 23.7 points, 6.3 rebounds 5.7 assists and 2.0 assists in ASU’s three wins this past week. He shot 55 percent from the field, 57 percent from 3-point range and 83 percent from the free-throw line. He scored a career-high 35 against UC-Irvine on Sunday.
Shaquielle McKissic was the last Sun Devil to win the award.
The Sun Devils are off to a fast start in the 2017-18 season, winning their first four games and scoring at least 90 points in all of them. Their nonconference schedule starts to heat up on Thursday against Kansas State, with matchups against St. John’s, Vanderbilt and No. 3 Kansas coming in December before beginning conference play on Dec. 30 against No. 2 Arizona.
Arizona junior guard Allonzo Trier was also nominated for the award and was the first winner this season.
