Missed opportunities costly again for Cardinals

Another week, another close loss for the Arizona Cardinals.

In a game many thought would right the ship, the Cardinals came up short for the second week in a row losing to the Seattle Seahawks 13-10.

The most disappointing part of the second consecutive loss for the Cardinals wasn’t due to lack of preparation or a bad call that turned the game. For coach Ken Whisenhunt the most disappointing part was the missed opportunities.

“Missed opportunities once again, is an area that is what’s so disappointing,” Whisenhunt told Arizona Sports 620’s Doug and Wolf on Monday.

“We had a chance again with the ball in our hands at the end of the game to tie it up or win it and we didn’t get it done,” Whisenhunt said.

The Cardinals were marching down the field into Seahawks territory before quarterback Kevin Kolb was sacked and followed that with an incomplete pass.

If the Cardinals are going to challenge for the division, they cannot afford to lose the close games.

“We’re striving to become a good team so you’ve got to be able to win some of those battles,” Whisenhunt said. “We’re close, we’re just not there and we just have to keep pushing through.”
