Larry Fitzgerald knows offense must improve

The Cardinals offense had trouble moving the ball Sunday in Seattle, especially when the team got the ball into Seahawks territory.

Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald, who caught the teams only touchdown, believes the offense needs to improve.

“I can speak only from the offense, we didn’t do and execute the way we know we’re capable of executing especially in the red zone,” Fitzgerald said. “Those are the things that have been beating us in the last two games that we’ve lost so we just hope that we’ll be able to execute better.”

The Cardinals had a chance to drive down the field and tie the game or take the lead, but QB Kevin Kolb threw an interception that sealed the loss for the team. However, Fitzgerald doesn’t think the loss was Kolb’s fault.

“We win as a team and we lose as a team,” Fitzgerald said. “It’s never any one man’s fault, everybody has to play well, Kevin has a bad throw it’s my job to go make a play and that’s what we pride ourselves on.”

The team did make some plays when running the no huddle offense, but Fitzgerald isn’t a fan of using it all game.

“It’s a good change of pace for us but I don’t ever want to have to rely on that to be our offense,” Fitzgerald said. “We have to be able to run our base offense. We want to be able to have long sustained drives to keep our defense fresh and give them some opportunities to get some three and outs.”

The Cardinals face the 2-1 New York Giants and Fitzgerald knows the game won’t be easy.

“We’re playing against a really good Giants team,” he said. “They play well, they’re disciplined, they don’t make many mistakes and they’re well coached so we have to be clicking on all cylinders.”
