The Arizona Coyotes announced Friday they have recalled forward Nick Merkley from the Tucson Roadrunners, the team’s American Hockey League affiliate.

Merkley has 12 goals and 12 assists in 20 games in his debut AHL season for the Roadrunners, with his 24 points putting him second in scoring on the club.

The 20-year-old was very productive during his time spent in the Western Hockey League for the Kelowna Rockets.

He had 259 points, 85 goals and 174 assists, in his 245 career games.

Merkley was the 30th overall selection in the first round of the 2015 NHL Draft by the Coyotes.
