The Arizona Coyotes acquired forward Josh Archibald and goalie Sean Maguire from the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday in exchange for goalie Michael Leighton.

The Coyotes and Penguins also swapped Arizona’s fourth-round pick in 2019 for Pittsburgh’s sixth-round pick.

Archibald, 25, will report to Arizona later Tuesday, the team said. To make room for him on the roster, the Coyotes sent center Dylan Strome to AHL Tucson.

“Josh is a player who is committed to winning,” Coyotes GM John Chayka said in a release. “We’re happy to have him in our organization.”

The 5-foot-10 forward, a sixth-round pick in 2011, has appeared in three games for Pittsburgh this season.

Maguire, 24, has gone 8-3-0 with a .910 save percentage with Wheeling in the ECHL this year.

The 36-year-old Leighton, who was acquired in a November trade with the Tampa Bay Lightning, was assigned to Tucson on Dec. 14 and did not appear in a game. He went 1-1-2 with a 3.40 goals against average in five games for the AHL’s Chicago Wolves.

Strome played in 11 games with the Coyotes this season and scored one goal.
