It’s official: I’m confused

I don’t get it.

On Friday I utterly and completely believed that Larry Foote was going to be a Cardinal. They were like two people flirting with each other big time at the bar. The mutual attraction was undeniable. At the very least phone numbers would be exchanged.

Foote wanted to play for a winner. Knows Coach Whisenhunt, fits in their 3-4, etc, etc. The Cardinals desperately needed an inside linebacker to replace Karlos Dansby and show their fans that everything was going to be alright.

Instead he’s a Steeler, as was reported by ESPN.

I thought the scheduled visit to Pittsburgh was nothing more than leverage; a way to inject a little urgency into the matter for the Cardinals. Instead they got nothing. Was it a health issue? Money? I want to know why Larry Foote isn’t a Cardinal.

I’m not the only one surprised. Darren Urban over at AZCardinals.com thought this was going to get done.

The Cards resident twitter-aholic Darnell Dockett tweeted this over the weekend: Foote didn’t want to sign with birdgang cool take his ass to pittsburg then and help Ben leave them women alone! We will get some1 else!

I understood the Boldin trade. I was on board with the ridiculousness of giving Karlos Dansby and Antrel Rolle that much guaranteed money. But right now on this Monday morning, I’m having my first official “what EXACTLY is going on over there?” moment about these Arizona Cardinals.

A Corolla at running back might work for the Arizona Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals might be better off looking for a running back in the draft than to land the big name.
