Cardinals must stay the course, continue to improve

Oct 4, 2011, 12:57 AM | Updated: 2:49 am

Another close game, another missed opportunity. This seems to be the theme for the Cardinals 2011 season, but at 1-3 and in a weak division, there is still hope that they can turn things around to salvage a season.

“The bottom line is this, we’ve had a chance the last three weeks to win games and we didn’t get it done at the end,” Whisenhunt told reporters. “We’re going to continue to work on improving and we’re going to win one of those and turn it.”

By no means is this a lost season for the Cardinals and they have shown flashes of good football, however, they are running short on time to figure things out.

“It’s a growing process that we’re going through with this team. We’re close,” said Whisenhunt. “We have to stay the course and continue to work.”

The fact that the losses have been by such narrow margins; one, three and four, let’s the fans and the team believe in Whisenhunt when he says the team is almost there.

“I think they [the players] believe we have the right guys that if we do it the right way we’re going to be successful,” said Whisenhunt. “We’ve shown glimpses of that and I think they certainly believe that.”
