SNL spoofs 23-year-old NBA on NBC theme

You’ve heard the song a million times, even though NBA games haven’t been telecast on NBC airwaves since 2002.

Yes, it’s “Roundball Rock”, the John Tesh-written ditty that used to get hoops fans pumped up for action in the heyday of the league in the mid-90s.

And now, it’s back on NBC…sort of.

Saturday Night Live spoofed the origin of the song on an episode — in 2013!

Short on new ideas, SNL? We’ll just chalk it up to a non-creative week of writer’s meetings.
