Arizona State University alum and golfer Jon Rahm had a touching tribute planned for the infamous 16th hole at the Waste Management Phoenix Open.
In the tee box, Rahm had on a Sun Devils Pat Tillman jersey, and in a usually unorthodox move for a golfer, urged the crowd to make some noise as he teed off.
He received a loud ovation connecting with the ball and also for the result of his drive. He would par the hole for the second straight day.
Rahm honored another Arizona legend at the hole earlier in the week.
Loved repping @AZCardinals jersey on 16 today. Had a blast playing with @P2 today, my man has some serious game! @WMPhoenixOpen pic.twitter.com/KMv4YdxPzD

At 7-under, Rahm is tied for eighth after shooting a 67 on Thursday and a 68 on Friday.
