The Olympics are about competition, sure, but they’re also about sportsmanship.
And you need look no further than Swiss skier Dario Cologna for that.
Colgna won the gold for the 15K classical-style cross-country race Friday with a time of 38:29:7, which was incredibly impressive.
However, it was what he did after winning that may have been even better.
Nearly half an hour after he was done himself, Cologna was still at the finish line waiting to congratulate the last two finishers, Nepal’s Dachhiri Sherpa and Peru’s Roberto Carcelen, as they crossed the finish line.
Carcelen, it should be noted, competed with a broken rib suffered in an accident just two weeks before the Olympics.
