UAB football team makes sure Tim Alexander is always part of the team

Tim Alexander is not a normal football player.

The tight end’s career took a major detour on Oct. 28, 2006, when he was paralyzed from the waist down in a car accident with a broken neck and spinal cord injury.

During the accident, Alexander, who was riding in the back of a friend’s car at the time, says he was able to push a two-year-old out of the vehicle to safety before it went off what he described as a cliff.

His days as a player may have been over, but that does not mean Alexander could not be part of a team.

So, he ended up at UAB, where he goes to practice and helps motivate the players. He’s a member of the team, and treated as such.

More on his story can be found here, but below are a couple of tweets that can only make you smile.
