Coyotes’ Scott Wedgewood leaves game after collision

Arizona Coyotes goaltender Scott Wedgewood left Tuesday’s game after a collision with a San Jose Sharks player.
After taking a puck to the mask earlier in the game, Wedgewood was in his net early in the third period when Sharks forward Timo Meier went towards the goal while being tied up with Coyotes defenseman Niklas Hjalmarsson.
Meier was headed toward Wedgewood and appeared to lead with the right side of his body and leave his feet. The collision shoved Wedgewood into the right post and crossbar of the goal as he fell.

Wedgewood immediately held his head and would then sit down on the ice talking with a trainer. After spending a minute sitting on the ice, he would then stand back up and appear to plan on staying in the game, putting his mask back on and sliding around the crease.
After that moment, the trainer came back on the ice and Wedgewood came off the ice.
Am told the concussion spotter called so Coyotes goalie Scott Wedgewood was pulled from the game. Still going through the protocol.

Wedgewood was replaced by Antti Raanta.
Wedgewood had been playing well, saving 28 of the Sharks’ 29 shots as the Coyotes held on to a 2-1 lead. He was ruled out for the rest of the game due to an upper body injury, according to the team.
