Suns’ guard Devin Booker will try to give it a go Wednesday night against the Utah Jazz, according to 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station host John Gambadoro.

General manager Ryan McDonough confirmed to Burns & Gambo that Booker will warm up to determine whether he will be able to play.

Booker has missed the last four games with a hip pointer suffered in the loss to the Charlotte Hornets Feb. 4. He leads the Suns in scoring, averaging 24.1 points per game and in assists with 4.9 per game.

A natural shooting guard, Booker took over point guard duties following a season-ending injury to Isaiah Canaan but hasn’t gotten the opportunity to play with the Suns’ newest trade-deadline acquisition, point guard Elfrid Payton.

The Suns will try to put the skids on a six-game losing streak that began against the Utah Jazz before Booker went down with the hip injury.

Coincidentally, the Jazz are the Suns’ opponent on Wednesday and come in riding a 10-game win streak, the longest in the league.

With a loss, the Suns will be at risk of owning the worst record in the league. They are currently tied with the Dallas Mavericks and Atlanta Hawks, who all have a record of 18-40.
