While spring training marks the end of winter for most baseball clubs, the Arizona Diamondbacks have one more night in the cold.
The Arizona Coyotes will host D-Backs Night on Feb. 24 during the team’s game against the Anaheim Ducks. As part of the celebration, the Coyotes plan to wear special D-backs/Coyotes jerseys in pre-game warm ups.
Additionally, third baseman Jake Lamb will drop the puck with the Coyotes set to hand out 7,500 bobbleheads of Lamb as the promotional item of the game.
Designed to promote unity between teams in the Valley, the Coyotes plan to include several Diamondbacks’ themes into the in-game entertainment on Saturday as well as having players, present and past, in attendance.
D-backs mascot Baxter will join Howler in leading the crowd and will sign autographs during the first intermission while organist Bobby Freeman is set to perform throughout the game.
The Diamondbacks’ 20th season is inching closer as the team looks to continue its success from a season ago, returning to the playoffs for the first time since 2011. The team begins its milestone year at Chase Field on March 29 against the Colorado Rockies.
