Arizona basketball loses commitment from PG Brandon Williams

The dominoes continue to fall for the University of Arizona as four-star recruit Brandon Williams has decided to reevaluate his commitment to Arizona.
With his departure, Arizona is without a commit in the 2018 recruiting class.
Through a social media post, Williams explained his reasoning on Friday.

It is yet another big blow for the Wildcats as Williams — who originally committed in June of 2017 — is the 37th-ranked prospect in the nation and 10th ranked point guard, according to Rivals.com.

The decision comes just six days after Arizona’s other top prospect, Shareef O’Neal, decided to fully decommit. He has since committed to UCLA.
O’Neal had previously committed to Arizona on April 19, 2017 and was the prize recruit of the 2018 class for the Wildcats.
And while Williams is opening up his recruitment again, he isn’t completely shutting the door at a potential Arizona reunion.
“I am NOT closing the door on Wildcat basketball, and I wish nothing but the best for Coach Miller and the Arizona basketball program moving forward,” Williams added at the end of his statement.
The decisions from both players to decommit stems from a Feb. 23 report by ESPN’s Mark Schlabach that alleged Miller had been heard on FBI wiretaps discussing a payment for $100,000 to secure the commitment of now-freshman Deandre Ayton.
