With both teams finishing up the regular season in front of their home crowds, it’s time for Arizona (24-7, 14-4) and Arizona State (20-10, 8-10) to venture to Las Vegas for the Pac-12 Tournament.

Leading the pack are the Wildcats, who secured their 13th all-time Pac-12 regular-season championship Saturday night in a win against California and now hold the top seed in the tournament.

Arizona will get an added day of rest as it has a first-round bye before playing the winner of Colorado and ASU Thursday, March 8 at 1 p.m. MST.

Against Colorado, Arizona went 1-1 in the series, losing 80-77 in the first matchup and taking home a nine-point win in the second. After scoring just eight points in the first game, Arizona guard Allonzo Trier dropped 23 in the second.

In their two matchups against in-state rival ASU, the Wildcats went 2-0, despite a 31-point effort from ASU guard Tra Holder in the first game. In the second game, Arizona big man Deandre Ayton dominated, dropping 25 points and 16 rebounds, both game highs.

Speaking of ASU, the Sun Devils hold the nine seed for the upcoming tournament. They will take on Colorado Wednesday, March 7 at 1 p.m. MST.

The Sun Devils split their series with the Buffaloes this season. They lost 90-81 in their first meeting, but rebounded in the next, winning 80-66. In ASU’s victory, Holder led the way for the Sun Devils with 22 points, five rebounds and four assists.
