Warner says Kolb doesn’t seem comfortable

Oct 13, 2011, 5:50 PM | Updated: 7:02 pm

Kevin Kolb has not thrown a touchdown since Week 3, and
has not gone a game without tossing an interception since
Week 1. He’s completing 58.7 percent of his passes and has
fumbled six times.

And the Cardinals are 1-4.

Questions and criticism have been piling up for the
Cardinals QB, as he was expected to come in and lead the
team back to respectability, not the NFC West basement.

Kurt Warner, who knows a thing or two about the
quarterback position as well as playing in Arizona, told
Arizona Sports 620’s Burns and Gambo Kolb is not in an
easy situation.

“He’s already behind the 8 ball because he’s not fully
comfortable with this offense and what he’s seeing,”
Warner said. “And now, when he starts feeling the
pressure…”

Kolb has felt plenty of that this season, as he’s been
sacked 16 times and been hit/pressured on many other
attempts. That has caused him to bail on the pocket a
little early sometimes, causing some issues in the passing
game.

“It’s tough to play this position because you’re always
wondering, ‘Can I hold the ball long enough, you know,
throw the ball down field,'” Warner said, “then you try to
hold it and then you get whacked and fumble the ball and
you go ‘Okay, can I hold it the next time?'”
