The Arizona Coyotes will recall 2015 No. 3 overall draft pick Dylan Strome and defenseman Trevor Murphy from the Tucson Roadrunners, the team announced Tuesday.

Additionally, defenseman Jason Demers will miss the remaining 10 games of the season with an upper-body injury.

Demers played in 69 games this year, his first with the Coyotes since coming over in a trade from the Florida Panthers in the summer. The 29-year-old averaged 21:08 of ice time per game as part of the team’s top-four defensive group, scoring six goals with 14 assists. This was Demers’ ninth season in the NHL.

Meanwhile, the move to recall Strome comes nine days after the Coyotes recalled the forward on an emergency basis, then subsequently canceled the transaction later that same day. This would make for the 21-year-old’s third NHL stint this season and fourth of his career.

Strome has a goal and no assists in 11 games played this year with the NHL club, but in Tucson, the AHL rookie has 22 goals and 28 assists in 47 games. He’s 17th in points and 15th in goals scored in the AHL this year, and represented Tucson in the AHL All-Star Classic earlier in the season.

Murphy came to the Roadrunners in a trade deadline deal on Feb. 26, when Arizona sent Tyler Gaudet and John Ramage to the Nashville Predators’ organization. In 56 games between the Milwaukee Admirals and Roadrunners this year, Murphy has nine goals and 21 assists.

The Coyotes are getting set to begin a six-game road trip that includes two sets of back-to-back games.

The first game on that trip is on Wednesday night against the Buffalo Sabres, followed by a Thursday game at Carolina. Both of those games are on ESPN 620 AM.
