The Arizona Coyotes honored U.S. women’s hockey gold medalists Brianna Decker and Amanda Pelkey on Saturday.
The teammates took part in the ceremonial puck drop with Coyotes center and former U.S. Olympian Derek Stepan and St. Louis Blues defenseman Alex Pietrangelo before the Coyotes took on the St. Louis Blues.

Decker was an assistant captain and Pelkey was a forward on the U.S. Women’s National team that won gold in South Korea at the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics. It was Pelkey’s first Olympics and Decker’s second, but Decker got her first gold medal as the team won silver in 2014.
The Olympic athletes hosted a hockey clinic on Friday with girls from the Coyotes Small Frys program at Oceanside Arena in Tempe.
In addition to that, Decker and Pelkey played street hockey with kids on the plaza outside of Gila River Arena prior to the game.
