PHOENIX – The Phoenix Suns will bring in their first group of players for workouts on June 10th as they try to find a steal at their 13th spot in the NBA Draft.
Jordan Hamilton of Texas, Klay Thompson of Washington St. and Jeremy Hazell of Seton Hall will all put their skills on display for the Suns to evaluate.
However, some feel the best player in that group will be long gone by the time the team picks.
“I would say when you look at this draft report June 10th, of those three, Jordan Hamilton would be my number one, but I don’t think there’s any way Jordan Hamilton is there at 13,” said Mark Asher on the Sports 620 KTAR’s Gambo and Ash show on Friday.
Co-host John Gambadoro agrees with his partner’s assessment and isn’t impressed with the rest of the group.
“I think he might go top ten, so I don’t think he’s there at 13. Klay Thompson is okay, but I’m not enamored with him,” said Gambadoro.
Asher thinks Hazell could be a good fit for the Suns.
“He’s regarded as a excellent shooter, so there’s your shooting guard,” said Asher.
If the Suns can’t find a decent player that will be available at their spot, the rumors of trying to trade their pick for Minnesota point guard Jonny Flynn might gain some steam.
