The Arizona Diamondbacks have optioned relief pitcher Silvino Bracho to Triple-A Reno, the team announced after Thursday’s game.
Bracho was initially called up after starter Taijuan Walker was placed on the 10-day disabled list. In one appearance, Bracho pitched a career-high three innings and struck out a career-high seven hitters against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday.
The 25-year-old has pitched in 60.2 innings over his four seasons with Arizona, allowing 36 earned runs.
The D-backs announced a corresponding move will be made prior to Friday’s game against the San Diego Padres. Right-handed pitcher Matt Koch was announced as the fill-in for Walker’s scheduled start on Friday after it was revealed that Walker would have Tommy John surgery.
