Suns’ Brooks headed to China

Nov 17, 2011, 5:11 PM | Updated: Nov 23, 2011, 3:48 pm

According to various reports, including one
by Yahoo! Sports NBA writer Adrian Wojnarowski
, Phoenix
Suns point guard Aaron Brooks has signed a one-year deal to
play basketball in China.

The deal, with Guandong of the Chinese Basketball
Association, is believed to be worth north of $2 million and
does not include a opt-out clause that would
allow Brooks to return to the NBA if and when the lockout
should end.

Brooks was acquired by the Suns in a trade with Houston
that sent guard Goran Dragic and a first round pick to the
Rockets last February.

The four-year veteran averaged 9.6 points and 4.2 assists
per game with the Suns last season.
