The Arizona Cardinals have exercised the 2019 fifth-year option on offensive tackle D.J. Humphries, according to ESPN’s Field Yates.

He will make $9,625,000 next season.

Humphries was drafted No. 24 overall in the 2015 NFL Draft and was inactive the entire season behind Earl Watford and Bobbie Massie. He started 13 games for the Cardinals in 2016.

In 2017, Humphries sprained his MCL in Week 1 and missed the next four games. He excelled after returning, becoming Pro Football Focus’ fifth-best run blocking offensive tackle, but dislocated a kneecap and hurt the same MCL, which forced him to miss the rest of the season.

The Cardinals hope he can shore up an offensive line that dealt with several lineup changes due to injury last season.
