The Arizona Cardinals waived five players on Tuesday, cutting their roster down with four more cuts needed before the team’s May 11 rookie mini-camp begins.

Cornerbacks Jarell Carter and C.J. Goodwin, running back Darius Victor and long snapper Drew Williams were released, while linebacker Gabe Martin was also waived after he suffered an Achilles injury.

Goodwin, who was the most experienced player cut on Tuesday with 28 career NFL games played, appeared twice for Arizona after the team claimed him off waivers from the Atlanta Falcons on Dec. 15.

Martin, a third-year pro, has six tackles and a fumble recovery in 11 games played over the last two seasons.

Victor and Carter had been on the practice squad since November, while Williams was signed in January.

The Cardinals must make several more cuts for the roster to hit 90 players by rookie mini-camp.

They signed 24 undrafted rookie free agents on Monday. Four of those players are linebackers, four were wide receivers while three were cornerbacks — Arizona is in need of depth at all three positions.
