Diamondbacks place Braden Shipley on 10-day DL, recall Silvino Bracho

The Arizona Diamondbacks announced Tuesday they had placed right-handed pitcher Braden Shipley on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to May 5, with right elbow inflammation.
In a corresponding roster move, the team has recalled right-hander Silvino Bracho from Triple-A Reno.
Shipley, 26, was recalled from the Reno Aces on May 5 following a rocky outing from Kris Medlen, who was starting for the D-backs in place of the injured Robbie Ray (oblique). Shipley had not yet appeared in a major-league game for Arizona in 2018, but went 2-3 with a 6.40 ERA in six starts for the Aces prior to the move.
He owns a career 5.40 ERA in 23 big league outings.
Bracho, meanwhile, will see his third different stint in the major leagues this season. The 25-year-old has allowed one run in six innings of work this season with the D-backs, all in relief.
The D-backs now have another hole to fill in their starting rotation. They had already called upon Medlen, Shipley and Matt Koch as Ray and Taijuan Walker suffered injuries.
