Diamondbacks celebrate Mother’s Day with special food menu, uniforms

May 11, 2018, 7:07 AM

Specialty food items, a pregame giveaway and a charity event will highlight Mother’s Day at Chase Field as the Arizona Diamondbacks face the Washington Nationals.

Prior to Sunday’s 5:05 p.m. first pitch, the first 10,000 mothers at the stadium will receive a Mother’s Day tote bag.

During the game, the D-backs players will wear pink caps and socks.

And afterward, mothers with children 15 years old and younger can run the bases with $1 going to Phoenix Children’s Hospital for every parent and kid to do so.

During the Mother’s Day game, fans will be able to eat their way through a special menu at Chase Field.

Surf & Turf Burger – A 1/3 lb. burger on toasted brioche with lettuce, tomato, bacon, pub battered shrimp and hollandaise cheese sauce. Available at Red Hot Grill near Section 118.

Assorted Chocolate & Caramel Dipped Apples – Choose from white chocolate-drizzled caramel apples, milk chocolate dipped apples or caramel apples with chocolate and heart candy. Available at Sweet Treat portables.

Whoopie Pie Yogurt Helmet – Mini D-backs helmet filled with vanilla frozen yogurt, chocolate and red velvet whoopie pies, raspberry sauce and fresh berries. Available at Sweet Treat portables near Sections 106 and 309.

Raspberry Basil Spritzer – Sparkling dry rosé with basil and fresh raspberries. Available at all full bar locations.

The Diamondbacks will also honor breast cancer survivor and honorary bat girl Mary McGonegle during the pregame ceremonies.
