Two former college football players from universities in Arizona were among those to report to Arizona Cardinals rookie camp on Friday.
Chad Adams, a former defensive back for ASU, and Zach Green, a running back for Arizona, were on the Cardinals rookie camp roster, attending on a tryout basis.
The 5-foot-9, 185-pound Adams played four seasons for the Sun Devils, recording 114 tackles and two interceptions in 34 games.
He made his first career start as a sophomore against Washington in 2015, recording a career-high six tackles, a number he would match in his start against West Virginia in the Motel 6 Cactus Bowl later that season.
Adams started all 13 games of his senior season, recording 69 tackles including a career-high 13 against in-state rival Arizona.
After redshirting his true freshman year, Green saw playing time for the Wildcats as a reserve back and on special teams, carrying the ball seven times for 19 yards.
His playing time increased in 2016 when he saw action in 11 of the team’s 12 games, rushing for 372 yards and three touchdowns. He also caught two passes for five yards.
As a senior, Green played in all 13 games of the season, including two starts against Houston and Washington State.
The 5-foot-10, 220-pounder rushed for 312 yards and 11 touchdowns for the Wildcats last season, second-most on the team behind quarterback Khalil Tate.
