It’s not a secret that LeBron James is one of the greatest basketball players to ever play the game. But it was the talent he displayed off the court Sunday that left reporters speechless.
Following the Cleveland Cavaliers’ 108-83 loss to the Boston Celtics in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals, James was tasked with answering a fairly simple question.
What happened in the beginning of the fourth quarter when the Celtics scored seven quick points?
It’s safe to say his answer wasn’t expected.
“The first possession we ran them down all the way to two on the shot clock, Marcus Morris missed a jump shot, followed it up, they got a dunk,” James recalled with ease.
“We came back down, we ran a set for Jordan Clarkson and he came off and missed it.”
He wasn’t done.
“We came back on the defensive end and we got a stop, they took it out on the sideline,” James said. “Jayson Tatum took the ball out, threw it to Marcus Smart in the short corner, he made a three. We come back down, missed another shot.
“And then Tatum came down and went 94 feet, did a Euro step and made a right-hand layup. Timeout.”
James sat in silence and then shrugged towards the media, who then responded with laughter.
The incredibly detailed account of what happened during that sequence left some Twitter users in awe.
