Arizona Diamondbacks first baseman Paul Goldschmidt hadn’t been his normal self.

The power hitter hadn’t connected with a home run in 29 games and had just five hits in the month of May. He only registered one RBI during that span.

To make matters worse, he struck out a season-high four times in Friday night’s 3-1 loss to the New York Mets.

But that all changed in the fourth inning of Saturday’s game.

Looking at a 2-1 deficit, Goldschmidt turned on one, blasting a solo bomb to tie things up in New York.

It was his first home run since April 15.

Judging by D-backs manager Torey Lovullo’s reaction, it was more than just a game-tying homer.

But Goldy wasn’t the only D-back to homer in the fourth.

D-backs catcher John Ryan Murphy roped a two-run shot shortly after Goldschmidt’s bomb in the same inning to take a 4-2 lead.

The Snakes fell short though, falling 5-4 to the Mets.
